Police Officers Warn Half Naked Tourists
Denpasar – The head of Bali’s Police Department, Ashikin Husien, ordered every police officer to keep an eye on foreign tourists who often wear very little clothing or are even half naked while riding motorcycles.
“If the officers come across this kind of violation, the tourists can be warned or given a shirt to wear. However, we must select the right offenders. We don’t want every body runing around half naked in order to get free shirts,” added Husein.
Bali is visited by many tourists throughout the world not only because of the beautiful nature and the uniqueness of its culture but also because os the pureness of the island. In order to preserve the pureness of Bali, the police officers must uphold the law and act on the things that can stain the island such as drugs, sex, and others, including half naked tourists.
Husein said, “We don’t have specific rules foridding someone who isn’t wearing proper clothing from riding a motorcycle. There only exists the rule to wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle. So we only can warn or give information to the tourists. The police can not punish them with specific regulations.”
