Shadow puppetry, or wayang Bali, known as the most important theatrical expression Bali. Bali is derived from the pre-Hindu culture and Hindu influences. The pieces are usually based on stories from the Hindu epic Ramayana and the Mahabharata. They communicate Bali history, religious and spiritual teachings, poetry and philosophy. The characters are half-gods, demons, the magic of romantic love and men.
