Garuda Indonesia: Direct Flight Shanghai – Denpasar

>Garuda Indonesia airline is scheduled to take Denpasar-Shanghai maiden flight on December 20, 2008 in anticipation of an increase in the number of passengers coming from China. Garuda Indonesia’s General Manager in Denpasar, Bagus Y. Siregar said that judging by the huge potential of Chinese market share, the time has come to their optimal development.

“The opportunity that has developed optimally to increase Chinese tourists to Bali. And the direct flight will be considerably shorter than his trip, and that tourists from China had to make a transit stop in Jakarta before proceeding to Bali” , Said on the sidelines of a dinner with participants of the China Education Mega Tour 2008.

He added that the 150 participants came from Guangzhou and Beijing, including tour operators and journalists. “During the three days until Saturday (December 20), attached to visit tourist attractions and first Garuda flight. These activities are also expected to support the development of tourism on the island of a thousand temples,” he said.

In the meantime, Garuda of GM in Shanghai Syamsuddin J. Souib said Chinese have a very high potential to go on holiday abroad forums, especially to Bali, despite the current global financial crisis. “On the other hand, the number of passengers that we have been flying from China to Bali has increased significantly” he said.

Head of the Bali Tourism Office Gede Nurjaya also fully supports the Garuda Indonesia direct flight between China and Bali, Indonesia in an effort to increase the number of foreign tourists to Indonesia, said that in 2006, 40,687 Chinese tourists has arrived to Bali, which was a 137.42 percent increase compared with 2005.

Until October 2008, 105,356 Chinese tourists have arrived in Indonesia, and Chinese tourists since 2004 were included in the big 15, and in 2008 their number was the 5th largest.
