Bali Holiday – Siwa Ratri Day

Yesterday, Balinese people (especially Hindu) celebrated Siwa Ratri (Siwa Latri) that means “Siwa Night”, is a holy day for the forgiveness of sin to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa (God). Siwa Ratri feast night also called penance. This feast day falls on purwaning tilem sasih kepitu.

Events held on the day are as follows:
1. Before carrying out all activities, the first carried out praying by finished right at 06.00 AM.
2. After that at 06.00 AM on starting activities Monabrata (not talking), Upawasa (not eating and drinking) and Mejagra (not sleep).
3. Monabrata carried out 12 hours, 24 hours for Upawasa and Mejagra for 36 hours.

Each end of the activities carried out in praying. All activities are carried out is to conduct training and spiritual improvement. Thus, all the people who are expected to carry out these activities can fill with events such as reading the book of spiritual such as Weda, deepens religious teachings, a night of literature, and others.
